The Best Gluten Free Apple Pie Ever

Today I am going to share the best gluten free pie that I have ever had. I even shared this with my family and they loved it. I always tell everyone that just because it is gluten free doesn’t mean it tastes bad.

Ingredients:

The Crust:
1 ¼ cup all-purpose gluten free flour
¼ tsp salt
½ cup butter
¼ cup cold water

The Filling:
Sliced and chopped apples (4-5)
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp all-purpose gluten free flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 Tbsp butter melted

The Topping:
3/4 cup all-purpose gluten free flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup butter

Directions:

For The Crust:
Combine flour, salt and cold butter until mixed well then add ice water. Form the dough into a ball, wrap in plastic and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 425°F. Press cold dough into a pie dish.

Bake for about 15 minutes at 425°F.

Decrease the oven temperature to 350°F.

 For The Filling:
Combine the flour, sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and apples in a large bowl. Add butter and mix well.

Pour filling evenly on top of crust.

For The Topping:
Combine the flour, sugar, brown sugar and butter. Mix until crumbly. Evenly distribute topping over apple filling.

Bake pie at 350°F for 50 minutes.
